IKEJA ROTARY CLUB INSTALLS FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT

ojuroye installations 2Rotarian Olaitan Ojuroye has been inaugurated as the 50th and first female President of Rotary Club of Ikeja, District 9110, Nigeria.

 

The historical and colourful investiture ceremony which held at the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, on Sunday, August 7, 2016, was witnessed both by leading Rotarians from all works of life and other high net-worth individuals. They all gathered to be privileged witnesses to the of commencement of the tenure of the first female President of the Club as well as the induction of the Board of Directors for the 2016/2017 Rotary Year.

 

In her inaugural speech, Rotarian Ojuroye pledged that her tenure will bring about remarkable paradigm shifts in the Ikeja District, promising to continue to focus on pro-poor, pro-people projects that have been carefully designed to positively touch the lives of the people of the immediate Ikeja Community. Expectedly, the Rotarian Presidentcalled on all guests and members toidentify with the Club in this regard through generous donations to support the implementation of the projects.

 

“Rotary is an association of professionals from different fields of endeavour who are united to serve humanity and provide assistance to the less privileged in the society. In my administration, breast cancer awareness and special hand washing campaign will top my agenda. I call on all Rotarians to donate generously towards the execution of these life-saving projects. Please do feel free to monitor and audit these projects as we executive them”, the newly installed Rotarian President said.

 

She thereafter announced her “tripod vision”which will revolve around execution of well thought out and life changing education/literacy, maternal/child care and water/sanitation projects.

 

Very important personalities who graced the event include Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, Karunwi III, Oranmiyan Osile of Oke-Ona, Egba, himself a member of the Rotary Club of Ikeja, was the Royal Father of the Day. The mother andthe Managing Director of Benin Electricity Distribution Company, Mrs. Olufunke Iyabo Osibodu and Sir Oluremi Omotosho, Chairman, Standard Chartered Bank Limited who was theGuest Speaker were also at the epoch making event..

 

As should be expected members of Rotary Club District 9110 led by the District Governor Par Ikhelua were in attendance, so also were members of Rotary Club of Ikeja whose show the event was.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Members of the Club inducted to assist the President during the Rotary Year 2016/2017 included Rotarian Adeniyi Adelaja, the Vice President, Rotarian Goke Olayinka who will serve as the Chairman of the Membership Committee, Rotarian Muyiwa Fagbola will serve as the Vice Chairman. Other members of the Board include Rotarian Ladun Ogunbanwo, the Club Admin Director, Rotarian Hameed Olori, Project Director, and Rotarian Sola Akinsiku Director Public Relations

 

Rotarian Tosin Kadiri, the Immediate Past President whois also on the Club’s Board said he was enthused to hand over to the first female president of the leading Rotary Club.
