The Annual General Meeting of the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria, (OAAN) begins Thursday in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The event which started today with the arrival of members, aside examining the association input in the last one year, the Tunde Adedoyin led executive will step down at this year’s AGM and new executives are expected to emerge to build on the achievements and create new opportunities for members of the association in spite of the challenges face by the outgoing executives.
It should be noted that for four years, the outgoing executive had much to cope with in terms of challenges, notably are those created by the relevant agencies of government at all levels to chase them out of business in their desires for revenues.
Therefore it is expected that the new executive committee of the association that will emerge tomorrow consolidate on this to negotiate with other states and Abuja to enable them regulate the business of out of home to the benefits of members and their business.
It is also necessary that the needed breath for many member organisations to come back to life in their operations must be provided not only to preserve existing jobs but to also help the challenged ones to bounce back.
It should be noted that members are expected to arrive Abeokuta today in preparation of the meeting tomorrow.
