Ikeja Rotary Club Donates Borehole To Mopol 20 Residential Quarters

In its bid to solve the problem of water
supply facing the community of Mopol 20
of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja,
Lagos, the Rotary Club of Ikeja District 9110
Nigeria recently donated borehole to assist
the residents.
Although, the donation of the borehole
on March 30, 2016 was not the first to be
done by the Club as it had two years ago
commissioned three taps borehole in the
same residential quarters.
In their large numbers, the residents of
the Mopol 20 showered praises and thank
you songs for the kind gesture by the Club
through their women folks who sang different
songs in some of the indigenous languages of
Nigeria including Igala, Fulani, Yoruba, Ibo and
Hausa languages to express their appreciation
for the gestures.
Expectedly, some of their children and
youths in the residential quarters joined
their mothers in the euphoria as they quickly
stormed the borehole after commissioning to
fetch water.
Speaking at the commissioning, the
President of Rotary Club of Ikeja, Rotarian
Tosin Kadiri, explained that the Club had
conducted their needs assessment before
deciding on the borehole project for the
residents of the quarters, stressing that they
identified that the major problem facing the
residents is lack of adequate portable water.
